July 2014 Nail Art Recap

Hi lovelies! While I wasn't blogging much, I continued to do my nails but just got too busy to blog about them. So here's a recap of the nails I've done in July after my last blog post. I don't remember which polishes I used on these nails, so the pictures are all I've got.

Zoya Ultra Pixie Dust 2014

Hi my loves, I apologize for not being able to post anything for the last couple of months. To see what nail art I've been up to, check out my Instagram here. Anyways, for today I have Zoya's Ultra Pixie Dust for fall 2014. These are kind of in between the original Pixie Dusts and the Magical Pixie Dusts. There isn't much of a variety since these are all in the shade of red / wine-ish color, but I love them anyway. All the swatches I've seen so far (at least the ones listed on the Zoya blog) looked quite different from my pictures mainly because theirs didn't dry matte like mine did. For all the pictures below, I used a coat of American Classics Yellow Stopper under the polishes. I know, I know, I shouldn't use a base coat. But it makes it easier for me to swatch, so just deal with it. Enough of this, let's just head to the pictures.... after the break ;)

I Sea The....Dream

Hi my loves! Today I have for you a simple nail art design with just flowers and the ever so beautiful Zoya Dream on my accent nails. Floral design was done with white acrylic paint.

Salt + Watercolor Nails

Hi lovelies! A couple of days ago I saw a tutorial on how to do salt + watercolor nails on Instagram by Spektorsnails. Right when I saw it I knew I needed to try it out but didn't know what design to do with them. It wasn't until Sunday when I was at church that I got the idea (thank you Lord! haha). So when I got home from church I started drawing out the design and how the koi fish were going to look. I then realized that koi fish are a little hard to draw but I think I got it, the next problem was painting them on my nails, especially on my Cinderella hand. But I think mine aren't so bad.

Anyway, click here to watch her tutorial on YouTube. I followed that tutorial but made a couple tweaks. On her video she used a mixture of coarse and fine salt, and I used just plain rock salt. Also, instead of waiting for it to dry completely and wash it off, I decided to remove the salt with the use of pointed tweezers. But as for everything else, I followed the tutorial step by step.

I think I'm in love with how my nails look even though it's getting harder and harder to type because they're so long now. Haha. I think it took me between 3-4 hours to finish this, so I hope you like them as much as I do!

Momma's Nails

Hi lovelies! I've been convincing my mom for the longest time to let me paint her nails. I usually do her toe nails but never her finger nails because she says that she washes her hands a lot, blah blah blah. But because I've been bugging her about it, she finally agreed to it. So she was looking through Pinterest for inspiration and found one with a simple flower on the accent nails and of course I wanted to add a little bit of sparkle to it. So this is what it looks like...
