Sugar Coat It!

Hi there lovelies! Last night after I washed the dishes and cooked my mom's lunch for today, I noticed that there was a crack on my left thumb nail. I tried to teabag it but I guess my glue was old and it just wasn't working well. I was left with no choice but to cut my nail, and I didn't want to have long nails and just one short one so I decided (with a very heavy heart) to cut all my nails. Now I just have to live with these nubbins until they grow out ): So I thought to myself, maybe I should just swatch this polish since it'll probably look better on short nails anyway. Therefore, I have for you a swatch from the Wet N' Wild Megalast line in Sugar Coat. The bottle I have is the new formula with the new bottle and a new brush. I've been reading reviews about it and have found some bloggers liking it but there were some who didn't so I was scared to try it at first. But the bottle looked so beautiful and the swatches I've seen seem so perfect so I had to give it a shot!

Let's get started on the swatches, shall we? When you look at the bottle, it looks like a nude-y pink and whenever I see polishes like this, I think to myself that the application probably isn't great and that it'll take forever to dry because it will need more than 2 coats to be opaque. I wasn't wrong with those thoughts. Don't get me wrong, I love this polish and I love how it looks on my hands. But I had to put 3-4 coats to make it look even and even then, my index finger still didn't look completely opaque. Although it does look pretty opaque in pictures, you can see that the color isn't completely even in person. It applies a little streaky but if you're willing to add 2-3 more coats (and if you have time and patience), it'll look perfect. I didn't expect it to look so pink but I love it nonetheless. As you can see in the first picture, it looks a little white-ish but that's just due to flash. The second and third pictures are the closest to the natural color of this polish.

The dry time wasn't that great either. Usually when I do my nails and paint a coat of Seche Vite, after a minute or so, when I clean up my nails they're usually already dry. But with this polish, when I was cleaning up my right index finger, I was able to see that the polish on my nail was moving when the brush touched it. That almost never happens when I use SV. But then again, I did put 4 coats of polish on before that and I didn't let it dry in between, so that must have been my fault too.

Overall, for the price of $1.68 USD + tax, I think it's definitely worth a try - you've got nothing to lose! I think it's the perfect pink nude for my skin color and even if I had to use 4 coats, I still love it.  I like my nails to be thick anyway, so if you're like me, then I recommend this product!

The pictures below are with one coat of China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base, four coats of Wet N' Wild Sugar Coat, and one coat of Seche Vite.

I hope you liked it! Let me know which drugstore polish you'd like me to check out next time!
